Chocolate swirled meringues

The day I decided to make these meringues was a crazy one, but I couldn’t pass the opportunity to bake something and feel better. The house was full of relatives that came to visit, and from time to time someone came in the kitchen asking me what I’m doing. Truth is, I didn’t even know myself until I added the melted spoon of Nutella.

I started out by mixing the egg whites, then adding sugar (spice ‘n everything nice), but I did not want to make the same classic Pavlova with fruits on top, as I have done that before. So I placed a spoon full of meringue mixture on the baking sheet and continued doing that until there was no more left in the bowl.

After that, I placed two spoons of Nutella in the microwave (it is the easiest way of getting thing done) and after it melted, I added it to the meringues and started swirling it with a toothpick. Above you have the before oven picture, and below the after one.

The beauty of this is that it doesn’t have to be perfect, so you could just take it slow and enjoy your cooking time. Top everything with whipped cream and chopped Twix and Snickers bars and prepare to amaze your family!

I don’t even need to mention that this dessert was a crowd-pleaser; the next day it vanished from the fridge like no other thing I baked. Guess I will start adding more chocolate to my recipes?! Anyway, if you are interested in how I made this, check below:

Ziua in care am ales sa fac bezelele a fost una cel putin agitata, dar nu am putut sa refuz o ocazie de a gati ceva pentru a ma face sa ma simt mai bine. Casa era plina de rude venite in vizita, iar din cand in cand cineva venea in bucatarie sa ma intrebe ce am de gand sa fac. Adevarul este ca nici eu nu am stiut exact pana nu am inceput sa invart cu o scobitoare in ciocolata topita.

Am inceput prin a bate albusurile spuma, am adaugat zaharul, insa nu am vrut sa fac iar aceeasi reteta clasica de Pavlova cu fructe deasupra. Intr-o incercare de a schimba cursul lucrurilor, am plasat cate o lingura de amestec pe hartia de copt pana cand nu a mai ramas nimic in bol.

Apoi am incalzit doua linguri de Nutella intr-un vas in cuptorul cu microunde (pentru ca este cea mai usoara cale, pana la urma) si dupa ce ciocolata s-a topit, am picurat cate putin deasupra fiecarei bezele si am amestecat-o fara a omogeniza cu o scobitoare.

Frumusetea acestui procedeu este ca nu trebuie sa fie perfect, asa ca te poti relaxa si bucura de timpul petrecut gatind. Adauga frisca si batoane de Twix taiate marunt si pregateste-te sa iti uimesti familia cu preparatul tau de Masterchef!

Lasand la o parte gluma, nu cred ca e nevoie sa mai accentuez ca acest desert satisface poftele tuturor; a doua zi a disparut din frigider ca nimic altceva ce am pregatit pana acum. Cred ca voi incepe sa incorporez mai multa ciocolata in retetele mele?! Daca vrei sa afli cum am facut aceste bezele minunate, modul de preparare este mai jos:
